Established in 1993, Rob Carpenter Construction, Inc. has earned a reputation for quality, custom craftsmanship. As the fourth generation of Carpenter Family contractors, Rob received hands-on training during middle school and high school. In college he established and ran a deck building business that precipitated the opportunity to build his first house as a college senior. Upon graduation from Iowa State University in 1992 Rob returned to Tennessee to launch Rob Carpenter Construction, Inc. He and his wife Julie run the business together, thus preserving the Carpenter Family commitment to excellence.
Licensed to provide both residential and light commercial contracting services, Rob Carpenter Construction’s mission is to build quality products that satisfy each customer’s needs and dreams. Meet Julie
Julie Carpenter’s journey into design began over 20 years ago when she started working alongside her husband at Rob Carpenter Construction, Inc. What began as helping with new construction selections for speculative homes such as tile colors and patterns, paint colors, cabinetry design and all the many details that turn a house into a home—quickly grew into a true passion. Julie developed a keen eye for creating cohesive, timeless interiors that complemented the craftsmanship of each custom build.
As homeowners began asking for help beyond the build, Julie started assisting clients with furnishings, window treatments, and accessories on the side. She discovered that her greatest joy was in the layering process—bringing warmth, personality, and function to newly completed spaces. Her ability to listen carefully, understand how families live, and translate that into beautiful, livable rooms became her signature strength.
Today, Julie has launched Navy Door Studio by Decorating Den Interiors, where she is able to fully cultivate her love of design and share her talent on a broader scale. With a style rooted in tailored traditional design, Julie creates spaces that feel welcoming, refined, and thoughtfully curated—inviting clients to step “behind the navy door” and into homes that truly reflect their lifestyle and story.
